Basilica Cistern on a Hagia Sophia Travel day is a product placement, not a second palace. Morning never holds it. Afternoon holds it when Topkapı is shut. Standard and deluxe hold the same day-session swap, then stop before Night Shift. Forty minutes on the water. Not 165 in the Harem. We run this as a licensed Istanbul operator, TÜRSAB 16602. Colina already published the five visit checks for the same stairs. Read that desk, then book one brand: the same stairs on our partner brand, Colina Rojo Travel. This page hangs our four clocks on the live products.
Our Tuesday twin is not live yet. Use Colina’s closed-day map until it is: Istanbul on Tuesday. Confirm one brand. Do not hold two live carts.
Which Hagia clock actually holds the water
Yerebatan Caddesi is about 150 metres from the square. The van stays on the street. You walk the stairs. The walk inside, with the Medusa bases, is about forty minutes. That number does not change because the confirmation says deluxe. What changes is whether the ticket is already in the product, and whether the session is the day window we actually guide.
Day session is 09:00 to 18:30. Night Shift is 19:30 to 22:00. The site is closed to visitors 18:30 to 19:30 while they change the room. Our afternoon ends at 17:00. Standard ends at 17:00. Deluxe ends about 18:30. None of those clocks is a 19:30 lighting show. If you want Night Shift, that is your own evening after the tour, on a different paper. Confirm hours on the official visit page: yerebatan.com.

Basilica Cistern: the four product clocks
Print the rack. If a listing puts the cistern on the morning half-day, it is selling a ridge walk with the wrong interior name.
| Clock | Product | Cistern |
|---|---|---|
| 08:00 to 13:00 | Morning half-day from €125 | No. Ridge doors only. Meet in Sultanahmet. No Vito, no palace, nothing to swap |
| 13:00 to 17:00 | Afternoon half-day from €165 | Yes on Tuesday: gallery plus cistern instead of Topkapı. Same meeting pin. No hotel transfer |
| 09:00 to 17:00 | Standard full-day from €230 | Yes on Tuesday: Vito hotel pickup, lunch, cistern swap, bazaar while open |
| 09:00 to 18:30 | Deluxe full-day from €290 | Same day-session swap, then one finale. Not Night Shift |
Those four are a Basilica Cistern booking as we sell it. Colina’s five checks are the ticket desk. Use one map at checkout.
Morning does not swap
The morning product is 08:00 to 13:00 on the ridge. Blue Mosque when open, the square, the Hagia Sophia gallery ticket. It never included Topkapı, so Tuesday does not invent a cistern hour inside it. If you want the water on a Tuesday morning, you are not on the morning half-day. You are on standard, or you add the cistern yourself after 13:00. Door order for the two monuments, without this interior, is Blue Mosque vs Hagia Sophia.
Children 0 to 5 join free. Ages 6 to 11 pay half. Minimum two adults. Guides work in English, Spanish or Russian. The guide fee is fixed for the booking, not per head. Assemble a custom Tuesday on Colina’s Build Your Own Istanbul Tour planner if you would rather tick the cistern than buy a ready afternoon. Confirm one brand.

Afternoon is the Tuesday pin
This is the clock most guests actually need. 13:00 to 17:00. Meet in Sultanahmet, same pin as morning, no hotel pickup. On an open palace day the afternoon holds the gallery plus Topkapı. On Tuesday the palace ticket becomes the Basilica Cistern ticket at no extra fee. We do not turn that into a discount argument at a closed gate. Forty minutes below the street, then the gallery, then you are done before the 18:30 day-session close.
Do not stack the cistern and the Harem on this half day. The Harem is about 165 minutes. That stack is how lunch becomes 16:00. On four nights you can split heavy doors. That extra night is already live: Istanbul 4 day itinerary. Night counts without this interior sit on how many days in Istanbul.
Standard and deluxe, still the day session
Standard is hotel pickup in the Vito, lunch, both major tickets, bazaar while Kapalıçarşı is open. Tuesday swaps the palace paper for the cistern. Deluxe does the same swap in the morning block, then one finale: Bosphorus or Balat, not both. Deluxe is published to about 18:30. That is the last edge of the day session, not the start of Night Shift. Do not add a 19:30 lighting ticket onto a deluxe voucher and call it included.
A ready one-day sequence that can hold ridge plus one heavy interior is Istanbul in one day. Built-day sequencing, including this closed palace, is how to plan a private Istanbul tour. The money line on the partner brand is Istanbul private tour cost.
The paper is not a ministry ticket
Kültür AŞ runs the cistern. It is not a Ministry of Culture museum. Museum Pass Istanbul does not cover this door. Hagia Sophia gallery tickets still sit on the ministry side. Confirm that gallery note on muze.gov.tr. For the cistern, start at yerebatan.com and buy Passo or the counter if you are walking it yourself. On afternoon, standard and deluxe we already hold that paper when Tuesday forces the swap. Do not buy a reseller PDF on the way to a guided day that already includes it.
Prices move. We do not lock a lira figure here. The official visit info splits a daytime ticket and a higher Night Shift ticket. Visitors under 7 are listed as free. Card or İstanbulkart at the door. Confirm the week you fly. Colina wrote the longer ticket-desk version. Keep this page for which Hagia clock to open.
Book the IST doors before the stairs

An afternoon pin does not start at 13:00 if you landed at 14:00. Istanbul Airport is 48 km and 45 to 60 minutes from Sultanahmet. Sabiha Gökçen is 65 km and 75 to 95. Landing to a key is two and a half to three hours from IST. A 10:00 IST arrival can still make the afternoon pin. A 13:00 arrival is an evening courtyard walk. Night Shift at 19:30 is only realistic if bags are already in the room. Do not buy the afternoon product for a 16:00 landing.
Book the inbound before you fly: Istanbul Airport to Sultanahmet, private Mercedes Vito, six passengers, six bags, published at a fixed €45 for the vehicle. SAW is the longer twin at a fixed €50. Meet at IST Gate 9, CEO 34 on the pole, or SAW pillar 10, same sign. Child seats on the form. Compare Colina’s matching hub, Istanbul Airport to Sultanahmet, then confirm one inbound. The square-only night is first evening in Sultanahmet.
Book the return with the inbound: Sultanahmet to Istanbul Airport. A 16:00 IST ticket is a midday pickup. There is no cistern that morning. Compare Colina Sultanahmet to Istanbul Airport, then confirm one car. The hotel-door version of the same argument is Istanbul airport hotel transfer.
Book the three pieces so the stairs are already solved: Hagia Istanbul Airport to Sultanahmet, one of the three products that can actually hold the cistern, and Hagia Sultanahmet to Istanbul Airport. Strengthen the Colina hubs even if you checkout here: IST to Sultanahmet, Sultanahmet to IST, and the tour planner. That is a Basilica Cistern afternoon with the doors and the forty minutes on the same sitting.
Common questions
Does the morning half-day include it?
No. Morning is ridge only. There is no palace ticket to swap. Use afternoon, standard or deluxe on a Tuesday, or tick the cistern on the planner after 13:00.
Which clock should I buy on a Tuesday?
Afternoon if you already slept in Sultanahmet. Standard if you want hotel pickup and lunch. Deluxe if you still want one finale after the swap. Not morning. Not Night Shift.
Is Night Shift on deluxe?
No. Deluxe ends around 18:30, the edge of the day session. 19:30 is a different ticket after the tour.
Is this the same article as Colina’s cistern page?
No. They wrote the five visit checks. This page hangs four Hagia product clocks. Read both. Book once. Partner page: the same stairs on our partner brand.
Does Museum Pass cover it?
No. Not a ministry museum. Passo or the counter if you walk it yourself. On our Tuesday afternoon, standard and deluxe the paper is already in.
Can I do cistern and Harem in one half day?
No. Forty plus 165 is a corridor. Split them on four nights, or pick one.
Which transfers do I book?
Both legs before you fly. IST to Sultanahmet and Sultanahmet to IST. Compare Colina, then confirm one per leg.
Where is Tuesday explained in full?
On Colina, until our twin is live: Istanbul on Tuesday.
