Dolmabahce Palace is a Besiktas gate with its own Monday, its own ticket, and its own two hours. It is not a room you add to a Sultanahmet morning because the photograph is famous. Ticket desks run 09:00 to 17:00. The palace is closed Monday. The foreign price on the National Palaces board for Selamlik, Harem and the Painting Museum is 2,000 TL, and the Museum Card does not open the Selamlik. Four times matter more than the chandelier. When the desks open. When they close. Which weekday the gate is dark. How long the two wings actually take once security has your bag. Guests who remember only the staircase arrive at 16:40, photograph the tower, and leave with the ticket still in their pocket.
The tower is outside the pay line. The Selamlik and the Harem are inside it. The Painting Museum is named on the same ticket. Treat those as one visit, not three palaces and a bonus museum you can do after lunch on the ridge.
From a Sultanahmet hotel the hop is about 8 km and 25 to 45 minutes by private car. It is a Besiktas errand. It is not a five-minute walk from Hagia Sophia, and it is not hiding inside a standard voucher.

Ages 0 to 6 are free on the official board. Students aged 7 to 25 need the ID the desk names. Foreign students pay twice the discount and should carry the card, not a screenshot. New Year’s Day is closed. Victory Day and Republic Day are open. Check the week you fly. Holiday rules move less often than ticket totals, and less often than blog screenshots.
The Museum Card trap
National Palaces says the Museum Card does not cover the Dolmabahce Selamlik. People still arrive with a card that worked somewhere else and a speech prepared. The speech costs the queue behind you, and it does not change the wing. Pay the published ticket or pick another day. The board we quote is the official palace page: foreign visitors 2,000 TL, domestic visitors 250 TL, discount 150 TL, that ticket described as valid for a week.
The e-ticket payment screen has shown other totals and a longer validity in some seasons. If your QR says 90 days, believe the QR you paid for, not a paragraph you remember. If the amount on the screen is higher than 2,000 TL, that higher figure is the price that day. Do not let a third party at the rail sell you a paper that looks cheaper. The gate scans the official code.
Buy before you ride if the week is busy. A desk at 11:00 in July is a queue, not a formality. The driver can wait. The desk will not hold your place because the van is on a meter.
Two hours, then the quay
Selamlik and Harem at a human pace are about two hours, including the ceremonial hall. Add the Painting Museum only if nobody is already done. Families who also want the tower, a short tea and the bridge in the frame should tell the driver three hours from drop to pickup.
Cameras die in several state rooms. The attendant is the rule. The frames that always work are the tower and the water rail, and they do not need a ticket. Take them first. Inside, the room where Ataturk died in 1938 is part of the route. Walk it quietly. It is not a pose.

Where this sits next to a ridge day
Morning from €125 stays on the square until about 13:00. Afternoon from €165 is still the ridge, gallery plus a palace or the cistern. Standard from €230 is a full Vito day with lunch, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi and the bazaar when the bazaar is open. Tuesday on that product swaps Topkapi for the cistern. Deluxe from €290 adds one finale after lunch, a Bosphorus cruise or a Balat walk, and ends nearer 18:30. Dolmabahce Palace is on none of those lists.
Use the products for what they are. The ridge day is the standard full day from €230. The day with one water or hill ending is the deluxe full day from €290. Put this gate on its own morning. Monday belongs to the old city, because the shore is shut and Topkapi is open. Tuesday belongs here, because Topkapi is shut and this gate is open. Sunday can be the shore. The Grand Bazaar will not save a Sunday.

Airport doors before the shore
If the hotel is in Besiktas, the inbound is the Besiktas car, not the Sultanahmet car. IST to Besiktas is the published vehicle price from €45, about 38 km, on Istanbul Airport to Besiktas. A Sultanahmet hotel still uses the Sultanahmet meet, then a separate palace hop on the day the gate is open.

A landing at 14:00 is a hotel, a walk, and dinner. It is not a Selamlik. Desks are in their last hours, and the next morning might be Monday. 17:00 on the official board, open from 09:00. For Selamlik and Harem together, be at the gate by 15:30. Later than that is a tower photo.
Is Monday really shut?
Yes. Dolmabahce Palace closes Monday. Topkapi closes Tuesday. Put the shore on Tuesday and the ridge on Monday if those are your only palace days.
Will a Museum Card work?
Not for the Selamlik. Budget the foreign ticket. Confirm the figure on the official screen the week you pay. A card from another museum does not rewrite this gate.
How long is the visit?
About two hours inside the two wings. Three hours if you add the tower, the Painting Museum and a slow quay. Do not book a cruise pickup 70 minutes after the drop.
Can we walk from Sultanahmet?
You can walk the shore for pleasure once the tickets are finished. You should not use that walk as the bridge between Hagia Sophia and this gate on the same morning. Take the car. It is about 8 km.
Is the palace inside the deluxe price?
